Sufi Poetry by Hassan Meerza

RESURRECTION
A glance of my beloved fills me with a desire to go beyond myself
And I explode and scattered like dust at his feet
Now the magician of love – the Christ has raised me from my extinction to glorification
My dust particles have transformed into the colorful stars on the sky of eternity
Where each star is emanating a different hue from the reflecting light of my beloved
LONG LIVE MY MURSHID – O HU

FLIGHT OF A WAVE
An early morning song of a bird
Brings forth a wave of life from the sea of eternity
And the bride of sun unveils its beauty
Its golden complexion attracts and brings everyone within her enfoldment
The green of leaves touches the red of roses
And the scent of roses prevails everywhere
The bud of my heart flowers right here and now
And a song of its fragrance touches the bird’s flight

CREATION
Beyond yet within!
A dance of lights with a rhythm of silence
Flames of fire beneath the surface of water
A lotus is born on a lake

DEKH KABIRA ROYA
Waves in the desert
Make the ocean freeze
Fish in the water is thirsty

PRISM
We are the rays emanating from the eternal sun
Dancing in a rhythm of light and shade
Music of colors arises from the garden of eternity
Making the fragrance of flowers to glow everywhere

NUR-UN-ALA-NUR
A flower is hidden without the light
A peacock in a form of dancing colors is absent from the existence
Beauty is an expression of light

Allah is the light of heavens and earth*

The sun smiles in the pupil of an eye
This is how a glance brings an object into light
Light is an invisible bridge making the objects visible

Allah is the light of heavens and earth
* Allah-u-Nur-us-Samawat-ae-Wal-Ard (QURAN)

I BOW BEFORE MY MURSHID
The orange sun rises over black night to make it blue
And the white flames of seagulls touch the serpents like waves to wake up the storm
And the wave upon wave rises and rises to touch the sky breaking the gushing wind into the pearls of water
Forming a bridge of rainbow stretching from one bank to the other
